General:

Cory is a born and bred Texan. He grew up in South Texas where he met the love of his life and they raised their daughter. During this time, he worked for an event security company that specialized in access control for major events including the Olympics, Super Bowls, and the Presidential Debates and Inaugurations. This work appealed to his love of travel but kept him away from an even more important love – family. In 2015, after completing their first house flip, Cory and his wife, Gretchen, moved to the Metroplex. Together, they opened TX 199 Design and began upcycling forgotten treasures into beautiful statement pieces. Cory became interested in home inspecting as a result of this combination of home remodeling and design. Family continues to be his top priority. A girl dad through and through, he recently welcomed the addition of two nieces into his home and became the proud Pawpaw to his first granddaughter. He loves spending time with all his girls!

Experience:

Cory became a certified home inspector in 2017. He initially worked independently and joined Greenworks in 2018. He currently is a Market Leader in the DFW area and enjoys working with his team to help them achieve their personal and professional goals. In his role as a Senior Inspector, Cory appreciates getting to be part of the process of helping families make one of the biggest purchases they will ever make. Buying a home can be a stressful event. Cory works to help buyers understand more about their future homes and their systems so they can purchase with confidence.

Interesting:

When Cory is not helping families during the purchasing process, he can be found spending time with his family and fur children. Family time often consists of camping and hiking. He also enjoys anything to do with water including boating, kayaking, and SCUBA diving. Cory has a deep appreciation for classic cars and is currently restoring a 1953 GMC truck.

My family consists of two boys, 13 and 7, and one princess who is 3. Our kids participate in basketball, soccer and tumbling. My wife is a veteran teacher who proudly serves her school district and community. In our spare time, we enjoy hiking, swimming, and sporting events
